CHIKUNGUNYA VIRUS ON THE RISE AMONG SOUTH FLORIDA RESIDENTS
July 17,2014

There is a dire need for mosquito control this summer in south Florida.  A new virus has been found in mosquitoes in the Caribbean that are starting to affect south Florida residents. So far there have been 81 confirmed cases in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. The virus is called “Chikungunya” pronounced “chicken-gun-ya”.

Nick Felicione Pest Control can help control mosquitoes in your yard that have the potential to spread this mosquito born virus. We use a natural garlic spray that has been used by governments for parks, golf courses and school grounds for years because it works!

Since mosquitoes are soft-bodied insects the garlic juice can be very toxic to them in increased concentrations. The juice does not harm humans, pets or plants, but to mosquitoes it can be deadly. The odor of garlic chases them away for as long as they can detect the odor. The odor of sprayed garlic juice becomes undetectable to humans within minutes, but mosquitoes can detect odor as much as 10,000 times better than a human. Even though you can't smell the garlic, they can and they will stay away from the sprayed area for up to a month. If the mosquitoes aren't in your yard, they can't get into your house.
DON'T LET MOSQUITOES RUIN YOUR SUMMER NIGHTS AND FAMILY GET TOGETHERS!
